The theme for January’s competition was “Abandoned” and it attracted a variety of subjects in states of ruin and disrepair.

The judge was local photographer Jimmy “Thistle” Weir who previously visited us to share some of his recent images and background stories in September.

Jimmy is a former commercial photographer and he gave concise but pointed feedback on each image, telling us what he particularly liked about each image and offering advice or asking questions from time to time.
