The Western Photographic Society welcomed us to their new venue in Peel last week for the annual “Battle”.
Always a good opportunity for members of both clubs to socialise, there is also the small matter of a competition and each club submits 30 of its members’ images for scrutiny by a neutral judge.
John Watterson was the WPS pick this year and he allocated points to each image while sharing his thoughts, and the hosts were the eventual winners with the highest total.
Points were allocated in the range 12-19, and our top-scoring images are included here.
Thank you to the WPS for hosting and providing cakes and refreshments, and we look forward to hosting the event next year.
Our top-scoring entries:
18 points:
Georgina Shaw’s “Douglas Fireworks” and Steve’s Johnstone’s “Stag”.
17 points:
Barry Hennedy’s “Gondolas at Dawn”, Andrea Thrussell’s “Media City”, Jason Quayle’s “Racing to the Rescue” and Steve’s “Whitethroat Gotcha”.
