The follow-up evening for last month’s portrait photography session was educational and often amusing.
Photographer Jason Kinrade returned three weeks after his initial visit and loaded one of his images of Ian Galloway into Photoshop. He took us through his processing workflow and demonstrated how he would use tools including the spot healing brush and patch, liquify and dodge tools.
He then imported a background overlay and blended the layers to give the portrait a different feel and atmosphere. It was fascinating work and Jason answered questions and offered advice throughout.
Afterwards, members took the opportunity to connect their own cameras to Jason’s studio light and take some portraits while experimenting with the location of the reflectors and the light source. Gregg was our willing victim for much of the evening although Georgina and Peter also made fleeting appearances in front of the cameras.
It was another fascinating and fun evening with Jason and you can see a selection of members’ images below.
