The 2021 Annual General Meeting took place on 9th June, and was followed by the results of the Lockdown Challenge.
President Brian Goldie welcomed everyone, thanked the committee, and encouraged all members to keep supporting the club and making suggestions to keep it moving forward.
The formal proceedings included the approval of last year’s Minutes and the annual reports from Chair Andrea Thrussell and Treasurer Andy Kennaugh. It was agreed to maintain the current annual subscription at £25 for next season and review it again next year.
Exhibitions, outings and future plans were discussed and all members were encouraged to send their favourite images as soon as possible for consideration for the anniversary exhibition in August.
With the exception of Lesley Cullen, the current committee offered to stand again and were re-elected en bloc. Lynn Ryan volunteered to join the committee and was duly elected, and Lesley was presented with flowers as a token of appreciation for stepping in and serving on the committee for the last 15 months.
Other items discussed included the choice of meeting night and it was decided to maintain Wednesday as our meeting night, and a vote was held to select the set themes for the 2022/23 season. Also under discussion were topics for club nights and the continuation of informal projects throughout the year on a trial basis.
Following the official business and refreshments, we viewed members’ images taken for the Lockdown Challenges, narrated by Jim Gibson.
There were eight weekly fun challenges and around 200 images in total, so participating members were asked to send their three favourites again for a vote by all members. The top three received unique and individual ‘Covid Cup’ trophies, created and presented by Brian Goldie.
The Lockdown Challenge Result:
1st “Backlit Tulips” by Gwen Tuck
2nd “Waiting For A Post Lockdown Haircut” by Andrea Thrussell
