We relinquished the Inter-Club Trophy at the “3-Way Battle” last week.
In this annual inter-club digital competition, the Western Photographic Society triumphed by a generous margin from the IOMPS and ourselves. The final totals were:
Western: 501
IOMPS: 480
Southern: 470
The visiting judge, Rob Hockney, is the current L&CPU President and also an experienced judge on the UK regional circuit so he offered an expert appraisal of the 90 images. He was hard to impress and each club received a smattering of 14-point scores, but he was consistent too with regular touches of humour..
He held back 12 images that scored 18, 19 or 20 points and well done to our own Steve Johnstone, who had “Grey Heron Out on a Limb” (18 points), “Ladies Smock” (19 points) and “Whitethroat Gotcha” (19 points) in that final 12.
Six images gained the maximum 20 points and Rob’s overall winner was “Minted Pea Salad”, a still-life image by Ruth Nicholls of the WPS. Congratulations to the Western and to Ruth.
