We are sad to share the news that our Club President, Mike Goldie, passed away on January 2nd.

Mike was a well-known gardener, local broadcaster and a founder member and mainstay of the Southern Photographic Society from 1971.  Although his health had prevented him from being active in the club in recent years, he remained our President and the opening competition of each new season is for his Mike Goldie Trophy.

The Society is making a donation in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer’s Society (Isle of Man) and our sincere condolences to his son Brian, himself a long-serving member and former Chairman of the SPS, and the family.
