Welcome to the new season with an introduction for new members and visitors followed by the annual Mike Goldie Trophy, an informal standalone competition open to all paid-up members. The theme selected by last year’s winner, Brian Green, is ‘’Flowers’’ in memory of the late Mike Goldie, and Brian will judge the entries (digital only, maximum of three images).
Please also bring some digital images of “What I Did In Lockdown / This Summer” to share after the break. Bring all images on a memory stick at the start of the evening.

A sociable evening with a twin purpose :
The ‘Digital Art‘ competition is a chance to showcase your ‘arty’ ideas and creativity with processing and effects, followed by explanations and demonstrations of how some of the images were created (this is entirely voluntary but much appreciated). You may enter up to five images.
Then we will view everyone’s latest digital images from around the island for the annual calendar project. Remember we need ‘Manx Scenes‘ of all seasons and from all locations, not just the south of the island!
Images should be emailed to the usual address by Saturday evening, 14th March. Please send Digital Art entries and calendar images on separate emals to avoid confusion and title your emails accordingly (‘Digital Art’ or ‘Manx Scenes’).
Entries to be in by 6pm Sunday 23rd February 2020
Print and Digital. Images that clearly convey the title of a song, book or film; colour or monochrome.

The annual friendly ‘battle’ between the Southern and Western Photographic Societies. Each club selects 30 of their strongest digital images, with no more than five by any individual, and goes head-to-head for bragging rights and the prestigious trophy.
This year’s competition is hosted by ourselves at our usual venue, and starts at 7.45pm.
Judge: Tony Curtis.
