The penultimate open competition of this season took place on Wednesday 2nd March.
The evening began with a few words about Andy Kennaugh and members and guests observed a minute’s silence in memory of Andy, who was our longest-serving member and treasurer. He will be very sadly missed.
Keen photographer, TT scrutineer and former sergeant with the Royal Engineers Steve Marsh returned to judge for us. He brought his usual blend of advice, humour and attention to detail, which contributed to an enjoyable evening.
Having recently retired and taken up beachcombing for exercise, Steve gifted the winner of each section a small bottle of his “sea glass” finds.

Entries included images of nature, sport, portraits, landscapes and seascapes, with the results as follows:
Print section:
1st: “Water’s Edge” by Alan Taylor – 20 points
2nd: “Maughold Lighthouse” by Georgina Shaw – 19 points
3rd: “Red Arrows” by Jim Gibson – 19 points

Digital section:
1st: “Blue Tit” by Georgina Shaw – 20 points
2nd: “William” by Barry Hennedy – 19 points
3rd: “Mirror Image” by Sue Clegg -19 points

Congratulations to Alan and Georgina and well done to everyone for some excellent images this month. You can see the top six images on this page. All entries and the updated scores will be available over the weekend.
This Sunday is the deadline for entries to “Our Historic Isle”, which is the final set theme of the season and will be judged by Chris Blyth on March 16th. Images should convey the history and past of the Isle of Man.
