The final set theme of the competition season was judged on Wednesday when Chris Blyth presented the results.
Chris is an experienced photographer and former President of the IOMPS, and he returned to judge at the Southern Photographic Society for a second time. Two seasons ago he took charge of an Open but this time he tackled ‘Our Historic Isle’ and enthused about the variety of local scenes and subjects.
Chris was keen that entries should meet the theme and his scores were a little lower for those where he felt the context wasn’t there. As with the 2-Way Battle last month, he was a thorough judge and pointed out any problems with the images but also offered praise and advice in equal measures.

The results were as follows:
Print section:
1st: ‘ Full Steam Ahead’ by Seamus Whelan – 20 points (above)
2nd=: ‘Our Ancient Capital’ by Seamus Whelan – 19 points
2nd=: ‘Queel Vooar Laksey’ by Jim Gibson – 19 points
3rd: ‘Monks Bridge’ by Sue Clegg – 18 points

Digital section:
1st: ‘Gaiety Theatre’ by Andrea Thrussell – 20 points (above)
2nd: ‘The Herring Tower’ by Georgina Shaw – 19 points
=3rd: ‘Manx Mining History’ by Jason Quayle – 18 points
=3rd: ‘Peel Castle’ by Seamus Whelan – 18 points
=3rd: ‘Chicken Rock’ by Lynn Ryan – 18 points
