Wildflower Walk

A guided wildflower walk was enjoyed by several members during our summer break.

On a blustery Sunday afternoon in May, members explored the beach and coastal footpath at Scarlett and learned about the huge variety of plants and flowers in the area.

Guided by Simon of Wildflowers of the Isle of Man, we enjoyed his expert commentary and engaging tales about the plants we saw, including many tiny ones that would be easy to miss.

We learned a huge amount and were delighted to see several uncommon plants, especially the Purple Milk Vetch, which is rare throughout the British Isles. Some images can be viewed in the gallery below.
