Congratulations to Seamus Whelan, whose “Clown” print is the overall Image of the Year, and to Brian Green, whose “Lighting Up The Sky” is the Digital Image of the Year!
Last week’s final competition of the season was judged by Patricia Tutt ARPS, always a popular visitor to our club, whether expertly assessing competition entries or sharing her accomplished photography.
The Image of the Year competition is restricted to images previously entered in one of the season’s competitions, so a great opportunity to review everyone’s best images in the same evening and hear a second opinion.
Pat said she enjoyed judging the images and the variety of styles and subjects. She thought Seamus’ “Clown” was striking, menacing and a “photographer’s image”, while Brian’s fireworks resembled a palm tree with sharp, well-caught details and clear reflections.

Many congratulations to both Seamus and Brian; you can see their winning images on the website and Facebook now.
Well done to everyone who has got involved with the competitions this season, especially the new members for putting their toes in the water, and the longer-term members who have made progress and ensured that the club’s standards are rising every year.
Update from the AGM to follow. There was a great turnout and many suggestions and action points. We look forward to a busy summer!
