Our Club Night on Wednesday 18th September was a great success, starting with the view of a wonderful red sunset as we arrived!
Georgina Shaw set up the tables with a selection of props and arrangements to try various techniques including close focus, depth of field, reflections, the effect of lighting, out of focus points of light (bokeh) and a variety of subjects ranging from frozen flowers and oil on water to Russian dolls.
It was an enjoyable evening whatever your level of experience and a good opportunity to swap ideas and advice. Thank you to Georgina for the ideas and preparation. You can see a few of my very average attempts here although I didn’t get to all of the tables. We will find a slot later in the season to share your favourite images from the evening.
We were also pleased to be able to present Bill Creer with the Christmas Trophy as he was unable to attend the Prize Presentation evening in May. Congratulations to Bill!
It was great to welcome two more new faces to the group and we look forward to seeing everyone again on 2nd October when the Open competition will be judged by Patricia Tutt.
As ever, if you would like to know more about the club or are interested in joining, just come along to our next evening or drop us a message.
