Our latest club night featured a travel presentation by Dave Salter.
Dave’s ‘Travelog’ presentation included images from his travels through the UK and beyond, which was very well-received by everyone present.
Dave outlined his regular business travel to the USA, Europe and the Far East, which provided much of the content as well as his usual departure/arrival cities of London and Liverpool.
The first half covered the scenes, people and streets of a variety of cities with descriptions and anecdotes from Dave, closing with a slideshow set to music. After the break, he showed the equipment he uses on his travels and spoke highly of the small but robust Fujifilm system that he carries while walking miles around the cities he visits.
Moving on to architecture, Dave presented striking industrial landscapes and buildings – some captured while lying on his back on the streets – then a collection of “grab shots” of varied subjects before closing with another thought-provoking slideshow encompassing every emotion.
It was a professional presentation and we are very grateful to Dave for sharing his images, advice and tales.
Our next meeting is Wednesday, 3rd November, when Ron Strathdee will judge the first Open competition of the season.
